Where Can I Find Waikiki Grocery Stores?

How Can We Help?

There are a handful of Waikiki grocery stores to choose from, find everything from local convenience stores to gourmet markets and a large Japanese supermarket.

If you’ve got access to a car while staying in Waikiki, it opens up your grocery shopping options by allowing you to easily access supermarkets in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Waikiki Grocery Stores

ABC Stores

Locally-owned convenience stores. There are 30+ stores in Waikiki alone. No matter where you stay, there will always be an ABC Store within walking distance. Check the ABC Store Locator.

Coco Cove Center of Waikiki

2284 Kalakaua Ave, Waikiki | Daily 6:30am-11:30pm
Centrally located on Waikiki’s main thoroughfare, Kalakaua Ave, is Coco Cove. It’s a larger convenience store and food market with hot and cold food bars.

Duke’s Lane Market & Eatery

2255 Kuhio Ave, Waikiki | Daily 6:30am-11pm
Find gourmet foods, made in Hawaii items, quality produce, and fresh bread made by their in-house bakery. There’s an awesome wine vault inside too with local and international wines and craft beers.

Food Pantry Eaton Square

438 Hobron Ln, Waikiki | Daily 6:00am-11:30pm
There is currently only one dedicated grocery store in Waikiki, this Food Pantry outlet. The original Food Pantry Kuhio will return as a brand new full-service grocery store in the Lilia Waikiki building in 2021.

Longs Drugs Waikiki

2155 Kalakaua Ave, Waikiki | 24-Hours (Pharmacy until 8pm)
Most people equate Longs Drugs as being a CVS pharmacy (chemist) but the Waikiki store doubles as a convenience store. Find grab-and-go items on the ground floor and household goods, alcohol, pharmaceuticals and more up the escalator. There’s also a MinuteClinic walk-in medical service.

Mitsuwa Marketplace

International Market Place | Daily 9am-10am
My choice for groceries in Waikiki is Mitsuwa Marketplace. It’s a treasure-trove of grocery goods, existing almost in secret, on Level 2 of the International Market Place. It’s the largest Japanese supermarket chain in the United States. It is a sushi and bento wonderland, Japanese grocery, confectionery and cosmetic utopia. There’s everything you need to whip up a meal from fresh-cut fruits and garden vegetables, to a fridge stocked with high quality tofu and meats. Alternatively, get your Japanese fix on-site at Matcha Love cafe (matcha-based ice cream, lattes, iced/hot teas), Hokkaido Ramen Santouka (seriously good bowls of ramen) and MoDo Hawaii (mochi donuts).

Royal Mini Mart

161 Uluniu St, Waikiki | Daily 9am-Midnight
A basic mini-mart selling staple snacks, foods, and beverages.

Waikiki Beach Market

410 Nahua St, Waikiki | Daily

A small convenience shop great for picking up essential items and booze.

Whalers General Stores

There are four shops in Waikiki; one on Kuhio Avenue, Lewers Street, inside Hilton Hawaiian Village and Ambassador Hotel. Check the Whalers General Store Locator.

236 Grocery

236 Liliuokalani Ave, Waikiki | Daily 10:00am-10:00pm
A small mini-mart handy for basic food and beverage essentials.

TIP: Please your own reusable bags! Oahu has a plastic bag ban mandating all stores to charge at least 15c for a plastic or paper bag.

Grocery Stores Near Waikiki

Ala Moana Center

Hawaii’s largest mall, a short 10-minute drive from Waikiki. It features a Foodland Farms and Target.

Foodland Farms at Ala Moana

Ala Moana Center | Daily 5am-10pm
Foodland Farms is Hawaii’s largest locally-owned grocery retailer and my favorite place to grocery shop. You’ll find everything you need in one location, from local produce, pre-prepared foods, organic meats, a poke bar, made-to-order sandwiches, a wine section, sushi and so much more. And best of all, there’s a buzzing wine bar in the heart of the store

Target Honolulu at Ala Moana

Ala Moana Center | Daily 8am-11pm
Target is a two-story store with an extensive grocery and fresh produce area. I’ve noticed a good range of plant-based vegan foods in the frozen food section.

Don Quijote Hawaii

801 Kaheka St, Honolulu | 24-Hours
Don Quijote is a discount chain store found mostly in Japan. It’s quirky and carries an eclectic mix of items from basic groceries, to electronics and clothing. On a side note, the AAA Local BBQ food window out the front makes great SPAM sandwiches on lightly toasted white bread with crispy lettuce, fresh tomato, and a fried egg.

Safeway Kapahulu

888 Kapahulu Ave, Kapahulu | 24-Hours
Safeway is an American supermarket chain. There’s a huge store in Kapahulu with lots of ground floor and rooftop parking. It carries brand names, signature groceries, a fresh produce department, meat and seafood sections, a deli and bakery, has an in-store florist, and more. Stop by the Service Desk to sign up for a Safeway Club Card for access to discounts.

Times Kahala

1173 21st Ave, Kahala | Daily 5am-12am
Times Supermarkets have a 75-year history in Hawaii. Shopping here is a true local experience. They support Hawaii farms and products and stand by everyday low prices. There’s no club card required, and everyone who shops saves! There are over 15 stores on Oahu.

Walmart Supercenter

700 Keeaumoku St, Honolulu | 24-Hours
Honolulu’s Walmart Supercenter pairs general merchandise with a supermarket, it’s a tourist adventure just waiting to happen. Renowned for selling more for less, expect to shop at prices too reasonable to refuse.

Whole Foods Market

4211 Waialae Ave, Kahala (Honolulu) | 7am-10pm
388 Kamakee St, Kakaako (Queen) | 7am-10pm
Whole Foods has a focus on local, organic and plant-based groceries. They are well-known for their prepared food buffet and stock a gourmet range of supermarket products. People with special dietary requirements will love this place.
